Come experience Bootblacking 101 with Bootblack Kelly as she shares her passion for service and her in-depth knowledge of proper care of leathers.
In this class you will learn how to care for leather items and the products and techniques to care for them. Walk away with the knowledge and ability to shine.
Are you ready to shine together?
No prior knowledge of boots or bootblacking is assumed for this class – it’s perfectly appropriate for beginners, and for all genders and orientations.
Kelly has been active in the boot scene for 10 years as intowhat64. She took her first class from Charming Chelle in 2010 and fell in love with boot blacking. She has been carefully honing her skills for the last several years and was honored to volunteer at Northwest Leather in 2018.
She ran for Northwest Bootblack in May 2019 and is currently working on the judges suggestions to improve upon her skills and knowledge.
Kelly taught her first boot black class last year for QLAS, She however, has extensive experience teaching other subjects. She is actively pursuing interested parties to participate in the Sacramento Area Boot Lab and Cigar Social.
Kelly has had the chance to gain confidence in her abilities working with customers in stands at Folsom Street Venus Playground in 2014 and 2019, at Northwest Leather in 2017 and 2018, Folsom Street in summer 2018 and 2019 at Bolt Bar after the Ms. Sacramento Leather contest, and also at Revelry in Reno in November 2018. Kelly bootblacks on a monthly basis at the Sacramento Area Bootlab/Cigar Social. In January 2020, she attended her first Sin in the City and had the opportunity to bootblack there.
Some people in the community remember her from having participated in the Iron Dom contest at Valley Heat in 2006. They witnessed her sense of humor and spontaneity.
