Class Description
One of the most important things an individual can learn is how to think. Practicing the principles of critical thinking is valuable because they can be applied to every area of your life to assist in better decision-making. A person can take hundreds of safety classes on BDSM and kink, but if they do not have a strong understanding of logic and its fallacies, accidents are more likely to happen in the moment.
This course offers a unique opportunity to blend critical thinking skills with BDSM practices, focusing on empowering bottoms and submissives to navigate their roles with confidence, safety, and informed consent. The strategies and techniques you will learn here will enhance critical analysis and decision-making skills. Recognizing when a dominant or play partner uses fallacious reasoning can alert you to potential red flags in their approach to respect for boundaries, their skill level, and the quality of their ethics.
Topics we will cover include:
- Understanding Logical Fallacies – Understanding logical fallacies helps you recognize flawed arguments or reasoning during negotiation. It ensures your consent is based on sound logic and mutual understanding rather than being influenced by manipulative or illogical arguments. You will learn the different types of logical fallacies and their impact on your safety.
- How to Spot and Articulate Faulty Logic – This is a valuable skill that empowers you to advocate for yourself effectively. Little Chaoss hopes to equip you to challenge any attempts to coerce or persuade you into unwanted activities. Or to push your boundaries without valid reasoning. These skills allow people to protect themselves from unsafe practices by thinking through variables with strong reasoning skills.
- Common Manipulation Strategies – You will learn how to identify common manipulation strategies and how to safeguard against them. Participants will also learn to recognize and avoid manipulation tactics by establishing and upholding personal standards and boundaries. Common scenarios of toxic behavioral patterns are easier to spot once you train yourself to apply critical thinking skills toward choosing partners and avoiding predatory behavior.
Knowledge of logical fallacies arms bottoms with the intellectual tools to engage in BDSM activities more safely, consciously, and satisfactorily, ensuring that their experiences are based on clear, logical, and consensual agreements. Please come with an open mind and willingness to engage respectfully with sensitive topics.
Regardless of your education level, you can learn the basics of thinking critically and improve your negotiation and risk assessment. While this course is specifically designed for bottoms and submissives, critical thinking skills in the context of BDSM are helpful regardless of your role.
